Taking care of yourself is easier said than done! In Julia Buss’ new book, “Your Care Plan: A Nurse’s Guide to Healthy Living,” she often helps nurses understand themselves with the wisdom they provide their patients. Nurses are very stressed with many responsibilities. Having to work long hours, working continuously, having to witness the death of patients and feel the loss, will cause physical and mental injuries. Nurses are exposed to a host of different diseases, which is why it is important to make sure that they keep their bodies healthy.
“Your Treatment Plan” is beautifully explained and detailed without being technical. The description is usually clear and concise. Julia Buss goes into specific topics on the basics of eating, digestion, and exercise. The first chapter contains “lifestyle questions” enabling one to make an initial assessment of one’s overall health. It helps to analyze many aspects of your state of being, such as metabolic type, fitness, level of conditioning and then prescribes a care plan to suit your profile. A large beautiful color made his book look less scary than a medical book.
Julia Buss participated in Aeronautical Decision Making (DECIDE), which is often used by pilots to help them make decisions when faced with problems. He has carefully used this formula in his book to help the reader achieve a state of health. It is also important to overcome the tendency to have more carbohydrates quickly which causes your blood sugar to rise and slows down your metabolism. Unlike the diet to “avoid fat at all costs,” Your Health Plan says to avoid obesity, especially obesity and overweight. Julia Buss gives you many helpful tips about food. For example, it is a good idea to use olive oil instead of butter on your bread, or it is best to have salad dressing on the side, like fruit oil and vinaigrette.
The main points of the author are as follows:
1. Exercise and maintain a healthy, healthy weight.
2. Eat healthy fats.
3. Eat whole grains.
4. Stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke.
5. Eat more vegetables and fruits.

I think a lot of information is available elsewhere, and a lot of it I already know. The author presents the information in a consistent holistic view of a healthy person; and thus clarify the meaning of which we look at our bodies. At the end of the book is a chapter on how to practice all of the information presented, and a general list of healthy foods categorized into: appetizers and drinks; bread and wheat; entrance; vegetarian entrees; soups, salads and side dishes; and sweets. Also included is a helpful guide, recommended reading list, and recommended viewing guide.
